When it’s dark outside in November, the boats in the Berlin exhibition halls at Boot & Fun shine. Then the fair becomes a harbor for boaters and water sports enthusiasts. During the cold season, Boot & Fun Berlin is one of Europe’s largest ports for boaters and water sports enthusiasts.
On November 29, the show will start with Caribbean flair at the Gala Night of Boats. From the November 30 to December 3 will be one of the largest boat shows in Europe for day, sports and family boats, with a special focus on inland waters, the Baltic Sea and the coastal areas of the Mediterranean.
The special appeal of a comprehensive boat show lies in the surprising and unexpected. And this is exactly where Boot & Fun Berlin comes in. It is one of the largest indoor trade fairs in Europe – with brands that cannot be experienced in this variety elsewhere. The major international boat brands will be represented in Berlin with their most innovative new products.
Berlin is a premiere show. The German premiere Marex 440 GC opens up a new class of boating with its gourmet cruiser concept – the pleasure class. The Galeon 370 GTO will be shown in Berlin for the first time in Germany. The Navan 30 is the first boat in a completely new boat series from US industry giant Brunswick and can be seen in the capital just a few weeks after its world premiere.
Like its sister models, the Berlin premieres Sea Ray SLX 260, Quicksilver 805 Open and Bayliner M19, the Navan 30 has been nominated for the Best of Boats Award 2023. The Texas 770 Sunday – a classic weekender with plenty of space – is coming to Berlin as a European premiere.
Europe’s largest motorboat award celebrates 10 years
An anniversary for Boot & Fun is the Best of Boats Award, which is being held in Berlin for the 10th time this year and is now the largest motorboat award in Europe. Together with numerous industry representatives, shipyard CEOs and boat journalists from all over Europe, the best boats of 2023 will be honored in seven categories on the first day of the show.
At the second Electric Summit, organized by float with the support of Boot & Fun Berlin, experts for mobility on the water will talk about the electric future of boating on the first day of the trade fair.
The range for sailors at Boot & Fun has also grown once again – with large family cruisers, elegant daysailers and fast dinghies for sporty sailing.
Large cruisers: for great enjoyment and long journeys
Anyone who travels by boat as a connoisseur either wants to cook well on board or eat well ashore. And experience has shown that this is where the worlds part. The Norwegian shipyard Marex has recently found an answer to this with its new 44-foot yacht – or rather two. The Marex 440 is available in two versions: for gourmets and Scandinavian.
The long-awaited Marex 440 GC is now making its German premiere in Berlin. The premium family boat is already pleasing to the eye thanks to the greatly flattened windshield, which gives the royal brand a sleeker and more modern look. The U-shaped kitchenette of the Gourmet Cruiser has everything you need to prepare a good meal.
An induction hob with oven, double sink and dishwasher are included, as well as a large fridge and freezer. Both are powered by solar energy. The solution of lowering the window hydraulically is particularly successful. It transforms into the kitchen counter.
Anniversary celebration at Boot & Fun
The Norwegian luxury brand is well represented with a total of four models. The Marex 360 CC won the Best of Boats Award in the Best for Family category at its first appearance in the capital. The Nordic quartet is completed by the Marex 330 SCA and the Marex 310 SC, and Marex will be celebrating its own 50th shipyard birthday at the gala night on Wednesday evening.
Premium family boats are also built by the Dutch Linssen shipyard, a family-run business. Just in time for the shipyard’s 75th anniversary next year, the Linssen 55 SL AC Variotop, at 14.95 meters one of the largest motor yachts at Boot & Fun Berlin 2023, will be on display in Berlin.
The ship, which is certified for offshore waters, is a feast for the eyes – and a dream castle with three cabins below deck. The name-giving element is the Variotop above the helmstand. In bad weather you sit warm and protected underneath, in good weather and with the canopy open you can enjoy the sun protected from the wind.
The Fisher family expands
What does a boat with the name abbreviation “Fisher” do in the premium family boat class? It comes from Jeanneau, which has sent its Merry Fisher boat series on a growth course – from compact family boat to motor yacht cruiser class. On display at Boot & Fun Berlin is the largest model, the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1295 Fly.
The design of the 11.92-meter-long boat with viewing deck impresses with its spaciousness. The sleeping area with three double cabins is accessed via the companionway in the middle of the hull. The owner’s cabin in the bow alone takes up almost half the length of the hull. Jeanneau has come up with a special effect on deck. The side wall can be opened up at the rear over a length of two meters. At the touch of a button, it swivels outboard and then becomes a balcony and bathing area.
